The Smile
The Smile have released their new album Wall Of Eyes (26th Jan '24), the follow up to the band’s 2022 debut LP A Light For Attracting Attention, which received critical acclaim from the likes of The Guardian, Pitchfork, The Observer, The Needle Drop, Rolling Stone, New York Magazine, Uncut and MOJO, and more.
The Smile played a series of brilliantly received live shows in the US and Mexico in June and July of this year and released “Bending Hectic” from the new album in June, having initially debuted the song at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2022.
For those not initiated, The Smile are an English rock band comprising the Radiohead members Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, with Tom Skinner (Sons of Kemet) on drums.
Wall of Eyes was recorded between Oxford and Abbey Road Studios, and was produced and mixed by Sam Petts-Davies. The album also features strings from the London Contemporary Orchestra, per a statement. The Smile will head out on a UK and European tour in 2024, following up a series of 2023 North American dates.
