Sophie Hutchings 'Become The Sky'

Releases

Become the Sky,’ is officially out in full!

‘Become the Sky’ was recorded at the beautiful Australian Chamber Orchestra’s studios, nestled on picturesque Sydney Harbour in the historic Walsh Bay Arts Precinct. The recording space itself became an integral part of the album’s sound: it’s vast and echoic, yet there’s a purposeful, tangible sense of intimacy woven throughout. What began as a two-day session for an EP quickly unfolded into something more; I ended up recording 11 tracks, each captured in straight takes. I really wanted to trust in the organic approach to the recording process, aiming to capture each moment in its most authentic form. You can get a glimpse behind the scenes and be a fly on the wall in the making of the album here.

Music has this incredible power to fuel our minds, transport us to different places, and help us hold onto deeply felt memories. In our fast-paced, often anxiety-fueled world, ‘Become the Sky’ was written to be a musical companion – a way to slow down and truly appreciate life in slow motion.
