Ariel Blum debut
BLUM is the solo project of Melbourne based producer, Ariel Blum.
Working in the shadows as a gun for hire on production duties for artists that include Allara, Lara Andallo, NIASHA, Gordon Koang, Srisha, Jacki Tut and Cash For Gold, as well as making up half of critically acclaimed underground Trip Hop Group St .Ives, this project sees BLUM’s unique production style and aesthetic come to the front under his own moniker.
Featuring the blistering performance of South Sudanese artist and activist Ajak Kwai, the track is a brutal take down of systemic racism, tokenism and white saviour complex.
Driven by the Ajak’s profound commentary on the state of play in 2021, BLUM meets her urgency with a tough, no- holds- bar composition, supported by the psychedelic Farfisa of Surprise Chef’s Jethro Curtin.
This is the first track from BLUM’s upcoming EP, due late 2021.
