NIHILS
NIHILS are really taking off, through the stratosphere and beyond. The Berlin-based constellation of multi-instrumentalists Ramon, Thomas and Florian have created not only a new EP - AM/PM Part 2: Interplanetary Maze - but an entire space system. Five tracks, each with its own world orbiting around central themes of humanity, exploration and the future.
After writing their previous EP - AM/PM Part I - during a complete lockdown, sharing and sending stems and sketches digitally, the trio got back to writing in one room together, meeting on Fridays like clockwork. After a concert-less year that still saw them break the 50 million streams mark on Spotify, it was a kick back out of their comfort zone, stepping out from the capsule, an optimistic spacewalk with no tether, waiting excitedly for a note or a beat to break the silence. The sounds came and burst like a supernova, forming moments like the middle-eight in HALFMOON, taking the band down a wormhole, a journey to unvisited territory, as much about self- discovery as escapism.
Three young Austrians, conquer the world with their electronic alternative music - a very brief description for the band NIHILS, who have been a buzzword in the scene for quite some time now. Their past release 'Help Our Souls' became a dance anthem and has since been clicked over 3 million times. Their remix (Urban Contact Remix Epic / Ultra) climbed the Austrian charts and became a radio favourite; to date over 20 million streams on Spotify.
Their success gradually rippled through to America where they played at the renowned SXSW festival in March 2015, leading to their support for 30 Seconds to Mars. After finishing their new album in Berlin, NIHILS return with their brand new single ‘Put you back together’, the first of three singles to appear before the album release in Spring 2017. Danceable pop tunes, infused by Berlin’s vibrant electronic scene.
